Construction and Marine

The forestry package model, applied to your work.

Construction and marine packages follow the same model as the forestry package. The intake questionnaire asks about your industry, so we can recommend the right package for your work.

What the Package Covers

Built on the same model as the forestry package.

The Same Model

The forestry package pairs industry-specific procedures and hazard assessments with emergency planning. Construction and marine packages follow that model.

Matched to Your Work

The intake questionnaire asks about your industry, so we can recommend the right package for your work.

Fixed-Price Quote

You get a recommended package with a fixed-price quote, and there is no obligation.

Where Certification Fits

COR is the certification program for construction employers.

WorkSafeBC describes COR as a voluntary employer certification program. It checks that a company has a fully implemented safety management system that meets national standards. See WorkSafeBC’s page on COR (checked November 2026).

Through BCCSA

The BC Construction Safety Alliance is the Certifying Partner for BC construction employers. It registers employers, supplies audit tools and helps employers find certified auditors. WorkSafeBC issues the certificate after a passed certification audit.

Prequalification

You may show your manual to COR auditors and to prime contractors or owners who review you for prequalification or site access.

The Certification-Ready package includes a gap analysis against COR or SAFE Companies, and we recommend which one fits your industry and your client contracts. A manual supports compliance. It does not guarantee certification, and you remain responsible for running your program.

Marine Operations

WorkSafeBC sets out its marine rules in Part 24 of the OHS Regulation.

Part 24 is titled “Diving, Fishing and Other Marine Operations”. Read Part 24 on WorkSafeBC’s site (checked November 2026).

Wharves, Docks and Floats

Part 24 has a division for wharves, docks and mooring floats.

Diving Operations

Employers in diving operations prepare safe diving procedures that include emergency, evacuation and rescue.

Fishing Operations

On a fishing vessel, the master establishes emergency procedures, assigns crew responsibilities and holds drills.

The general OHS program requirements in Part 3 of the Regulation apply to marine employers as they do to every BC employer. For commercial fishing, Fish Safe is the designated health and safety association.

How It Works

Four steps from first call to a running program.

  • Intake Questionnaire

It takes about ten minutes, and you can leave any answer blank.

  • We Recommend a Package

We review your answers and come back with a recommended package and a fixed-price quote. There is no obligation.

  • Setup

We set up the manual, the forms and the implementation guide, on paper and PDF forms or in the software you already use.

  • Ongoing Support

After setup, we offer an annual program review, training matrix oversight, dashboard and report upkeep, and advisory help.

The details of each step are on the home page.
